Beef combo is really nice, we ordered an appetizer and beef tongue as well, but that’s too much for two people. I’ll say my favorite is yam for sure!
Staff are nice and friendly, they send us a fried cake because it was my birthday when we dined in, that’s so sweet!
Ishoni Yakiniku was an amazing experience. The quality of the meats is wonderful and the flavor and prices are fair priced for the portions you are receiving. They offer some great sake options and have options for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. I recommend making a reservation as there were always people seated at every available table. Highly recommend!
This is a great spot for Japanese barbecue! It is definitely a bit on the pricey end the meat is very high quality and absolutely delicious. Service was mostly great, they kept our waters topped off constantly, but were a little slow to tend to both sides of our table (we had a group of 8.) The grills themselves were nice - they kept the smell of the meat fairly muted. Usually when I leave barbecue, I reek do meat, but this time I was glad that I didn't!
Fried Oyster is the best one I ever taken. Beef and beef tongue good, too. Fried ice cream tastes greasy. Food serves quickly (and clears away quickly, too). Serve with yuzu ice after meal for free.
Gyu Kaku is better in terms of selection and in general a larger menu. There is a limited of choices for non alcoholic drinks.
Street parking is paid until 10pm. Since it is caphill, prepare to spend 15 minutes to find one that might require 10 minutes of walking.
The clam soup is a 2.75/3 . The flavor reminds me of bottle clam juice.
Takoyaki is crispy and soft on the inside. 3.5/5
Gyoza is 3.5/5. The skin is crispy but not juicy or flavorful.
Wagyu is where is at!
The beef combo feeds 2 or 1 person if that's all you get.
The service is lacking. You have to hunt them down. On a weekday the restaurant was less than 35% full.
Best Japanese bbq I’ve had since Japan itsself. The beef combo had a great selection of wonderful cuts and all the meat was such great quality. Fatty and flavorful. Also got the a5 wagyu steak which was worth every ounce. Skip the nigiri although the flaming was fun to watch.
Really great quality food!!!
The combo beef plate was amazing and we also ordered the clam soup and thick beef tongue to share. The staff was very nice and the restaurant was clean and bright. Overall a wonderful experience and I’ll definitely come back again.
This upscale Japanese Yakiniku joint is a long-standing destination in the Seattle area, previously located in Bellevue. Weekends are synonymous with lengthy queues, so I strategically visited on a Tuesday right as they opened. Despite reservations, the dining window tops out at 1.5 hours. The meats, especially the beef are indeed top-tier quality. The cuts were nice. But let's be real, quality comes at a price. Tthe pricier selections could set you back around $100 per person. Aside from their mouthwatering Yakiniku, the grilled eel left me floored. Unexpectedly fantastic, boasting a uniquely sticky and soft texture. If you're up for indulgence and have a hankering for Yakiniku mastery, consider this spot a must-visit.
